Minton Jones was founded in 1946 by Travis Jones and William Minton after they left the armed services at the end of World War II.
Since then, we have grown to be the premier business office supplies and office furniture store that Georgia businesses depend on. We stock over 60,000 different products to give your organization a go-to source for everything you need to run smoothly.

Prior to the founding of Minton Jones, William “Jake” Minton and Travis Jones worked together at the Underwood Typewriter Company. At the onset of WWII, they both enlisted in the armed forces: Jake in the United States Navy and Travis in the Army Corp.
Jake and Travis meet again after returning from WWII. They had an idea of starting a business and bid on and received an Army contract to repair, clean, and repack all surplus typewriters.
Minton Jones was formed in January in Jake Minton's garage. That April, the company moved into its first business facility in East Point, GA.
Minton Jones becomes the Royal Typewriter dealer for the Atlanta marketplace.
Minton Jones expands to become a full-line office products distributor.
Minton Jones moves to a larger facility in East Point and creates two separate divisions: Office Supplies and Furniture, and Business Machines.
The company pivots to concentrate fully on the Office Supplies and Furniture division, selling the Business Machines division to division employees for $1.
Minton Jones opens its first satellite branch in Doraville, GA.
The company looks to the future and purchases its first business computer system: a Sperry Univac.
Minton Jones acquires competitor Perimeter Office Supply.
The company acquires competitor Office Warehouse, which has locations in Athens and Gainesville, GA.
Minton Jones consolidates all divisions into one modern facility.
Minton Jones receives its first GSA national contract to sell in all 50 states.
The company joins American Office Products Distributors (AOPD), which allows it to distribute to customers nationwide.
Minton Jones is awarded a national purchase agreement with the United States Army.
Minton Jones acquires competitor Media South.
The company acquires competitor Peachtree Supplies.
Minton Jones is one of 15 awardees of the newest GSA federal supply contract.
